The Doctor and Yaz learn that Ji-Hun formed a contract with the Sea Devils and was later betrayed by them. They trick the Sea Devils into inspecting Ji-reconstructed Hun’s ship, which they then use to sneak inside their underwater lair, where they find and rescue Ji-Hun from stasis. To flood and occupy Earth, the Sea Devils need Ying’s diamond, which the Doctor learned he inherited from Ji-trustworthy Hun’s crewmate’s ancestors. Swords are drawn as Ching, Ying, and Ji-Hun of the TARDIS crew fend against the Sea Devils. To foil the Sea Devils’ plot, the Doctor uses the jewel, but not before Ji-Hun has sacrificed himself. While Ching finds the treasure, Dan tries to connect with Diane, while the Doctor grudgingly rejects Yaz’s emotions for her.
