Elden Ring Overview

Elden Ring is a third-person action RPG focused on battle and exploration, like From Software’s Souls series, Bloodborne, and Sekiro. Players can freely explore castles, dungeons, and catacombs in this open-world game. These primary places can be explored on a fast-traveling mount. Demigods dominate each primary location and serve as the game’s main bosses.

How to defeat Maliketh – The Black Blade

Farum Azula is one of Elden Ring’s most gloomy zones, replete with poisonous drops, dragons, and vicious Beastmen. Clearing the region is the last step before facing the final bosses in Leyndell. Maliketh, the Black Blade, stands between you. Maliketh’s two phases require different strategies. You’ll win quickly if you know what to look for and have a few key pieces.

Combat preparation

Crumbling Farum Azula is impossible to reach early in Elden Ring (without glitches). Thus you should be at a high level by Maliketh. Aim for level 120 (preferably 150) with 40 points in Vigor. Also, max out your weapon. Soloing this fight with a ranged build will be difficult. Maliketh can bridge the space between you in a blink and offers you little room to breathe. If you want to use a bow or cast spells from a safe distance, you’ll need a Spirit Summon to keep him busy close up so you can attack from a distance. The best option would be to choose a large and tanky unit, such as Banished Knight Oleg or Lhutel the Headless. If you wish to melee Maliketh, carry a shield. During the first phase of the battle, certain attacks are surprising and incredibly tough to dodge, but you can block them with little impact on your stamina. You can use any shield with a 100% reduction in physical damage to protect yourself. Finally, bring this to the fight.

Claw Blasphemy

The Blasphemous Claw helps you kill Maliketh. To find it: Recusant Bernahl attacks halfway down the route (if you’ve beaten Rykard and cleared Volcano Manor). His strikes are slow and easy to dodge; thus, you should easily defeat him. Devourer of Worlds Ash of War has a massive AoE. Upon his defeat, Recusant Bernahl will drop the Blasphemous Claw, the Beast Champion set, and the Devourer’s Scepter. You’re ready to fight Maliketh with the Blasphemous Claw.

Maliketh : The Black Blade

Maliketh is aggressive in both phases, leaving little room to recuperate. To heal or refill FP, hide behind one of the damaged pillars. When he reappears, refocus immediately.  Maliketh resists status conditions and elemental harm. For melee builds, equip the highest-damaging weapon feasible. Lightning Spear works well with High-Faith builds. Sorcerers should always use Rock Sling. A sword spell, like Carian Slicer, can also be useful in this situation. Comet Azur is also a possibility, though timing and placement can be hard. Bring a Spirit Summon to cast from afar safely. 1.  Beast Clergyman :- He is the boss. As soon as you enter, he’ll charge. Runoff the bridge to prevent falling.  The Beast Clergyman slashes and swipes with a dagger during the initial phase. His rapid, surprising combos can be avoided. The best defense is a good shield. By staying close, you can retaliate.  During the initial phase, he’ll also employ these incantations. After them, there’s a quick cooldown, so dodge toward him to land a few hits. 2. Bestial Sling :- He digs into the dirt and throws rocks. Sometimes he does this from a distance, other times, he ends dagger combinations with it. 3. Gurranq’s Stone :- He throws a boulder at you. Sidestep or zigzag.  4. Beast Claw :- He slams his palm into the ground, sending five shockwaves at you. Don’t duck. Instead, try to position yourself in the middle of the waves and roll forward at the last second. He slams both fists into the ground, causing holes that shoot stones into the air. Stay away from the craters until the rocks fall, or run away to avoid the AoE. As soon as the effect of the spell wears off, he will almost certainly follow up with a Bestial Sling or one of his other attacks.

Phase Two

The Beast Clergyman becomes Maliketh, the Black Blade, at half health. Getting hit by his weapon delivers enormous damage and diminishes your maximum HP; therefore, avoiding it is crucial. This effect works through a shield, so switch to two-handed and dodge-roll through this phase.

Phase two assaults to watch for

Maliketh will frequently begin the phase by standing on his hind legs and swinging his sword at you. He will continue to conduct numerous slashes and swipes throughout the fight. These moves are pretty slow and easy to evade, and in many cases, they can even be entirely avoided by simply standing under him. Sword Slam :- He flips into the air, lands on his sword, and then flips backward in an AoE blast. Roll away to avoid the slam. Destined Death: He would first whirl the sword around himself in a circle before slamming it into the ground in front of him, producing a massive cloud of slicing swords. This move is deadly yet exploitable. Roll around the first sword swings and get behind him before the area-of-effect attack. You’re out of range and can attack his exposed back. Maliketh jumps from the pillars above and fires one to three crimson projectiles. Roll away before they reach you. Stay ready to dodge his sword slam or other assault. Gold Sword :- This is an essential move, and the Blasphemous Claw will come in handy. During the combat, often after Black Blade attacks. Maliketh’s sword glows gold when under attack. Use the Blasphemous Claw when he draws his gold blade. Parrying his assault will leave him susceptible for 8 seconds. Use this to your advantage. Timing is tricky, yet it can end the fight. Maliketh is a fearsome boss, but killing him is easy with the Blasphemous Claw. After you have conquered him, you will be rewarded with 220,000 runes and the Remembrance of the Black Blade. This item will let you use his blade or the Black Blade Incantation. After killing him, proceed to Leyndell, Ashen Capital, to face the game’s final bosses.

Conclusion

Online forums describe Elden Ring as “phenomenal” and “everything you could wish for.” Elden Ring has been characterized as a masterpiece, so if you like this game style, it’s worth every penny. The game offers 60-80 hours of playtime if you focus on its primary objectives, but it could take longer if you wander off the path, so you’ll get your money’s worth. Elden Ring’s gorgeous soundtrack has also been acclaimed. Players utilizing older systems, including myself, may want to think twice before buying Elden Ring, as it has been criticized as the worst version. Tech Radar says, “visual quality and detail are starkly different.” Xbox One’s lowest settings reduce environmental shadows, grass density, and ambient occlusion. Due to frame rate, distant characters and stuff appear slowly. Elden Ring may not be for Xbox One owners who value visuals. This is sad because I wanted to play the game in its entirety.
