The show depicts a small-time football coach appointed to coach a professional team in England despite having no expertise teaching soccer. The second season will premiere in July 2021. There’s no need for fans to be concerned about whether or not there will be a third series: it has already been announced.

Is there going to be a third season of Ted Lasso?

Yes! This show’s future was so confident that it was renewed for a second and third season by Apple TV+ back in August and October 2020, respectively.

When will Season 3 of Ted Lasso start?

No official date has been given for the Season 3 launch because filming has not yet begun. However, Season 2 debuted less than a year after the first season. If the current pace continues, we should see Season 3 in the summer of 2022.

What happened in Season 1 of Ted Lasso?

Season 1 began as a fish-out-of-water narrative as American college football coach Ted Lasso (Sudeikis) went to coach the fictional UK Premier League football (or what Americans would call soccer) team, A.F.C. Richmond. Ted’s gentle and upbeat demeanor almost compensated for his lack of soccer knowledge as he worked to improve the team on and off the field. Initially, Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), the team’s owner, recruited Ted to tank the team and exact revenge on her ex-husband, the previous owner—but as the season continued, she developed a respect for Ted. An unexpected, last-minute game loss to Manchester City knocked the A.F.C. Richmond team out of their division and forced Ted to give a resignation letter to Rebecca, who refused to accept it.

What happens in Season 2 of Ted Lasso?

Then, according to a preview, “kindness makes a comeback” in Season 2. The 12-episode season will follow the team as they find their way back into the Premier League. But first, Sudeikis told Entertainment Weekly in June, “people go into their caves and confront their s**t. We’ll see how Keeley’s (Juno Temple) and Rebecca’s friendship develops throughout the season. Roy will take on various duties as he tries to rediscover his place after a career-ending injury in the final game of last season. We’ll be looking for romances to blossom throughout the season as the team takes on a new sponsor.

Is there a trailer for Ted Lasso Season 3?

Due to the fact that Sudeikis and the team have not yet started filming Season 3, there is no trailer available. Season 2’s first trailer didn’t drop until a few months before the launch, so keep checking back here for an update!

Will this be the last season?

We hope not, although Sudeikis did have a three-season storyline in mind. In June 2021, he told Entertainment Weekly, “The tale that’s being told—that three-season arc—is one that I see, know, and understand.” “I’m delighted they’re willing to pay for those three seasons.” Who knows what will happen after that? I’m not sure.” Co-creator, writer, and star Brendan Hunt chimed in, saying, “I think we’ve always meant it to be three seasons. I think it would be pretty cool if, in the face of how much everyone likes this show, that we stick to our guns and just do three seasons.” But he did note that no one on the show expected it to become as big of a hit as it did. That said, he still defers to Sudeikis when it comes to taking Ted Lasso beyond season 3. “I will say that, whatever he decides, I will happily abide.” On a similar note, executive producer Bill Lawrence is “hopeful there are more Ted Lasso stories to tell after three seasons.”
